HERESCHWERKE automates the power network at the voestalpine plant in Donawitz
The internationally trading automation group HERESCHWERKE was awarded the large-scale automation project for the voestalpine plant in Donawitz
In order to meet the complex requirements of this project, HERESCHWERKE intends to introduce a tried and tested in-house development known as TelesysŪ as the system integrator. TelesysŪ is a product of HERESCHWERKE based on industry standards.
The automation system is geared towards highest availability and reliability of the power supply. The power supply network will be visualised on nine large-scale monitors and is automatically controlled by specially devised software functions, as automation is crucial for uninterrupted production processes. The new solution will replace the existing system, and the migration must be completed during normal production, when all machines are in operation, a challenge HERESCHWERKE is looking forward to.
A fibre-optic cable ring with a total length of more than 10 km serves as a data highway for the entire production site.
The project is worth 1.8 million Euro, and the Styrian automation specialist HERESCHWERKE will provide a bundle of goods and services from engineering and system supply to system integration, installation, maintenance and service.
